So the NBA owners are meeting today. Will anything get accomplished? Nope.
Aaron Brooks is going to play in China with no out clause. If the NBA Lockout gets resolved in the next few weeks the Rockets will be playing this season without their backup PG. That will be a big blow with Nash getting up there in age at 38...
Stern's response will be on SportsCenter at 2:40 PM. This should be interesting...
The NBA Players Union has filed for decertification.
The NBA Players Union has filed an anti-trust action against the NBA and have rejected the offer.
Stern fielded questions about the new deal on Twitter tonight? Wow, that's just desperate.
The NBA owners are trying to take away sign and trades and drop the mid-level exception to 3 million per year in their new offer. This will leave 7-10 players a year that will still get paid good and the rest will make 3 million or less. That really sucks for the second tier players who would be losing a ton of money in this new CBA. No way the players take this crap offer.
So much for getting a deal done. The players don't think the new deal the owners are offering is any better than their last offer. I'm starting to lose hope in this ending anytime soon...
Nba Union Presser: "The revised proposal does not meet what they are looking for" and "they will take a step back" from Fisher.
The owners are working on a revised offer based on the negotiation points from yesterday and today's meeting with the union. The offer will be given to the Union tonight.
5 plus hours into the NBA/NBAP meeting today and still no deal. The earlier rumor of a deal by Dave Checketts is false. Still reason for optimism according to many people's "sources".
The NBA and NBAP will meet again at noon today. Let's hope they can finally hammer out a deal before the weekend so we can watch some NBA again.
11 hours into the lockout. This is great news! There's no way a deal is made tonight because it's just too complicated, but I think the two sides will come out together and tell the media they are making progress in a hour or two. The deal will be made tomorrow or Friday.
The NBA's deadline has passed and the negotiations continue. Good sign. Most likely at some point tonight the deadline will get extended with the continuation of negotiations this week.
I'm hoping this NBA/NBAP meeting results in some progress today. This is a dangerous time with David Stern's deadline and if things go sour now negotiations might not start up for quite a while and the Decertification progress will most likely be started. Let's hope for the best today!
The union rejected the owners offer. The players say they're open minded about the BRI if they get the system changes they need.
Some owners upset by Sterns offer? While this may be true. This is really just the owners using the media to send a loud message to the players that they are lucky to even have this deal.
